Colas Partners with OnSite Support Ltd for PPE Solutions

In a pivotal step towards enhancing safety and sustainability in our operations, Colas have partnered with OnSite Support Ltd, a leading supplier of safety, welfare and site equipment to the construction industry for over forty-five years. This collaboration underscores our continued commitment to fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing across all our depots, offices and project sites.

As part of the mobilisation process, OnSite Support is engaging with our colleagues, providing a greater focus on having the correct and most effective personal protective equipment (PPE).

In Portsmouth, the Street Cleansing team welcomed Onsite to the depot on Thursday 29th for an engagement event. The team were invited to explore the range of products that OnSite have to offer, and a V12 thermal board was used to identify correct arch support, ensuring our site-based colleagues have appropriate footwear. Over the upcoming weeks, each site-based colleague will meet with the OnSite team to evaluate their requirements to enable them to work comfortably and proactively.

As leading suppliers to many in the construction industry, OnSite’s mission is to support every single person in the sector to work better, safer and more sustainably. As part of their mission, they are committed to ensuring that all involved in the construction sector have access to the correct, and comfortable PPE. Unlike traditional unisex-style PPE, OnSite offer gender-specific PPE products to better fit women in the sector, ensuring that each person on project sites wears the correct crucial protection.

Noise is prevalent on construction sites, and exposure to noise increases our risk of adverse health effects. Effective ear safety equipment plays a crucial role in protecting hearing against harmful noise in construction environments.

Underscoring the importance of ear protection, the World Health Organisation established World Hearing Day, a day celebrated on 3rd March of every year, and is dedicated to raising awareness of hearing loss prevention and promoting ear health globally.

Through the engaging mobilisation process, combined with useful information dedicated to control of noise, all colleagues have access to the knowledge and resources to eliminate the risks associated with noise exposure.
