Colas’ Carnsew Quarry produces and processes granite for the production of Asphalt and bitumen based products which Colas supplies to customers in the area. We test our products on site in our Lab to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
About the Role
Your role will be to drive the business forward through sales and business development. You will be customer facing, manage and develop key client relationships as well as winning new business. Your success will be key to the future success of the business and the quarry and as such, you will be a motivated and target orientated salesperson, ideally with an understanding of quarrying, aggregates, asphalts, tonnage and meterage.
You will develop and own a marketing plan, be involved in major projects in your area. You’ll use your local network and knowledge to identify and win new opportunities.
As well as developing and winning new business, you’ll be involved in the preparation and presentation of budgets; pricing levels & pricing of tenders and gathering market information (volumes, prices, haulage etc.).
You will likely have a background of sales in asphalts and aggregates meaning you understand the technical elements of the industry. You will be a target orientated and self-motivated salesperson who is looking to progress their career.
Your understanding of materials, rates, technical specifications of road surfaces is important for success and it would be an advantage if you brought knowledge of the local market and geography.
You’ll need a full, clean driving license to cover the local network. You’ll have a demonstrable understanding and competence of reporting, completing bids and tenders, pricing, tonnage, pipeline management and haulage.
