We currently have an exciting new opportunity available within our marketing team at our Head Office in Crawley. This is a chance for an experienced and highly credible marketing professional to take on a role with the scope to create and deliver effective marketing communications, which will benefit the Colas brand.

 

About the Role

This is a newly created position in our marketing team reporting in to the Marketing Manager and working with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Officer (Campaigns and Planning). You will have a specific focus on maximising national and regional PR and event opportunities, developing and executing an event and PR plan that will increase company profile in line with the company’s strategic objectives, to position Colas as a market leader.

You will also:

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager and appropriate departments within the organisation, plan, develop and implement effective marketing communication campaigns to drive brand and product/ service awareness
  • Undertake ongoing analysis of marketing campaigns to ensure targets are met
  • Identify national and regional PR opportunities and create appropriate, targeted press campaigns
  • Create a library of case studies that profile all aspects of the Colas product and service offering
  • Identify appropriate new projects and create case studies for these, including organising photography and liaison with customers as required
  • Manage all social media channels including planned and responsive communications
  • Produce communications, such as flyers, brochures and videos as required
  • Work with all areas of the business, create and manage a plan of event attendance, providing support and ensuring appropriate brand messaging
  • Maintain record of Trade Associations and affiliations to monitor and recommend event and Award opportunities and follow up as required
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with external agencies and providers
  • Assist with the production of artwork, sourcing images, print buying and checking copy
  • Write copy for marketing collateral, including brochures, letters, emails and websites
  • Create design briefs for both the in house design team and external agencies
  • Update the website CMS as required
  • Understand the product and customer profile, work with the Marketing Team to develop an annual communication plan
  • Monitor ongoing campaign spend against the budget, keeping accurate records and highlighting where variances occur
  • Assist in the production of ongoing competitor analysis and reporting
  • Assist team members with day to day marketing tasks and coordinating marketing projects and activities as requested
  • Carry out other appropriate duties as assigned by the line manager
  • Ensure that all operations carried out within our area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself
  • Ensure all activities are undertaken with due regard for the environment, to prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact

About you

You will be a passionate marketing professional with significant experience developing press related activity, case studies and event organisation and understanding with substantial experience working in a similar role in a business-to-business (B to B) environment.

You will also:

  • Be analytical and able to use various channels, identifying trends using statistical data
  • Be able to show strong evidence of creating events, event schedules and content as well as working with even organising companies
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of both print and digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience using Meltwater or a similar platform for writing and managing press releases
  • Be a great relationship builder and be able to work in collaboration with agencies for creative elements
  • Hold an undergraduate degree and be working towards or willing to work towards CIM
  • Have a strong command of written English and copy accuracy
  • Have the ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
