About the role
We are seeking to appoint an Insurance Manager based at either of our Rowfant, Crawley or Birmingham offices. Reporting to the Legal Director, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the insurance and claims functions of the Legal & Insurance Department. As the subject matter expert, you’ll provide in-house guidance on insurance related needs of the business.
Your role will mainly be working across claims and renewals, but you’ll also be involved in bids and tenders, ensuring needs are met. Most of your time is likely to be spent managing low value claims in house while supporting insurers with high value claims.
Policy renewals are spread across a variety of policies including motor, public/employer liability, contractor risk, goods in transit etc.
About you
You will be a driven and proactive individual, with a mindset to investigate and solve problems. You will have a professional background within insurance, claims, and commercial renewals, ideally within construction but that’s not essential. To succeed in the role, you’ll need to be able to keep multiple plates spinning and wear many different hats.
You’ll work autonomously and effectively to ensure deadlines are met in a standalone role.
We do have some bespoke systems and we use SharePoint and Excel, so you’ll have strong general admin skills. It’s essential that you have strong verbal and written communication skills.
As well as a highly competitive salary, Colas are also offering some great benefits with this role, which include:
- Competitive pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave per annum + the option to buy or sell up to 5 days annual leave
- Opportunity to study towards a professional qualification
- Ongoing training, and personal professional development
- Discounts on car leasing, holidays, cinema tickets, restaurants and much more through our online employee benefits portal
