About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering an effective commercial function for Colas Limited through strong leadership and management of the commercial team, whilst ensuring compliance with company and corporate governance requirements and procedures. You’ll ensure projects are managed effectively in line with Colas governance policies and procedures.
Ona a day to day basis, you’ll manage and oversee financial and commercial processes; commercial management and contract administration; cost planning and pre-contract cost control; project/commercial management reporting and the recording of works progress and assessing the effects of delay, prolongation and disruption.

You’ll have the relevant academic and professional qualifications such as MRICS, MICES, CIArb, MSc Construction Law etc. You’ll bring with you strong, demonstrable commercial management experience in a senior commercial role within the highways sector. It would be preferable to have both pre-contract and post-contract commercial experience.
You’ll be confident in managing P&L in a contracting environment. Have knowledge of the construction industry and its key processes including design and be adept at completing complex projects on time, to quality standards and achieving profit targets.
It’s essential that you’re able to find positive solutions to complex problems and be able to identify and implement effective business management processes. You must possess an excellent understanding of the contracting process as well as the ability to manage and develop the business both technically and commercially.
