Main Activities

  • Successfully manage the buying process for the South based contract units in line with the company and personal objectives on financial, health, safety, environmental, quality aspects
  • Liaise well and work closely with the Business Manager and Operational teams to provide effective procurement solutions
  • Coordinate and develop long term relationships with others as required in client, supply chain and other partner organisations to maximise all potential business leads
  • Communicate well with all members of the Commercial and Strategic Bidding team to maintain synergy in the company’s approach to these activities
  • Maintain an up to date awareness of activities and standards within Colas’ business sectors as they relate to this appointment
  • Demonstrate appropriate experience, training and qualifications for the post
  • Protect the commercial and corporate interests of the company

Person Specification

Experience and Skills

  • Working knowledge of NEC3/4, ICE 6th Ed., JCT, MSDF forms of contract
  • Experience in procurement on civil engineering schemes
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills / ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
