Colas Central operations are recruiting for an Apprentice Business Administrator to provide administrative support to the operations function and Accounts department within the Processes business unit.
About the Role
You will provide a range of administrative duties to support the Central region’s operations team. You will:
- Provide office support including customers & employees
- Keep well organised files and records of business activity
- Keep computer databases up to date
- Interact with clients either on the telephone or in person
- Taking phone messages and passing them to the relevant person
- Communicating with materials suppliers and vendors
- Processing invoices
- Learning about the company’s mission and available products / services
- Ordering from suppliers by telephone
- Ensure that all operations carried out within our area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for the safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself
- Ensure all activities undertaken are with due regard for the environment, prevent pollution, comply with legal and corporate requirements and minimise environmental impact
- Prepare meeting rooms

About you
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in working within Business Administration / Accounts and be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and organisation skills. You will also:
- Hold a grade 4-9 in both GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C) or equivalent
- Be able to demonstrate a mature attitude and the ability to keep highly confidential information confidential
- Demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
- Be ICT literate
- Be an excellent communicator with a good telephone manner
- Show excellent verbal and written communication skills
