Colas have been laying surface dressing for almost 100 years and
are nationally and internationally recognised as a market leader
and industry innovator in this sector. The treatment is
regarded as one of the most cost effective means of maintaining and
restoring road surface condition. Sealing of the road surface
by specialist binder and the application of aggregate "chippings"
provide a durable skid resistant surface at relatively low cost and

and application of binder to supplement other operations
Full Contracting Service
Colas have the resources and expertise to ensure that all types
of work are undertaken safely, reliably and speedily by our highly
skilled workforce and modern computer controlled
equipment.
Colas undertake all types of surface dressing, from single layer
treatments, to racked-in, double and mosaic dressings. Our suite of
eight surface dressing binders, including Polymer Modified Binders
(PMBs), Vegetable derivative binders and Resin products, enable the
right blend of binder and aggregate to be chosen ensuring high
performance and durability for each site.
Our contracting service is supported by our in house design team
providing free advice to our clients on request.
Our production and operational facilities are also supported by
our Technical Research Department who monitor quality in every
aspect of our works, seeking further improvement and
development.
Colas are proud of our safety record and all of our workforce
receive regular training on Managing Safety, Risk Assessments
etc. It is Colas policy to wear full protective equipment
(PPE) at all times and we have a no tolerance approach to
safety. Our operatives are fully trained to NHSS13 standard
and we are committed to the ongoing development of our
workforce.
Supply & Apply
Colas' range of binders can also be provided as part of our
supply and apply service. Experienced sprayer drivers and
operators are available with a range of sprayers to work within
other operational teams. This is an ideal means of obtaining
the binder of your choice together with application expertise
without the capital investment needed to procure specialist
plant.
