Harefield project progressing well

In early November, Colas were awarded a contract to build a new commercial and household waste recycling centre at Harefield in Middlesex for London Borough of Hillingdon. The project is now underway and is progressing well.

Colas have been commissioned to redevelop the existing site that manages household and commercial waste alongside winter maintenance operations for highways.

Construction works will include a new office facility for both highways and waste management teams, a complete rehabilitation of existing operational areas and a new area for household waste recycling on additional land alongside the existing site.

Additionally, considerable reinforced concrete works to retaining walls and ground slabs will follow drainage, which includes substantial underground storage to avoid flooding during storms.

Works are being carried out by Colas' Construction Projects team following a lengthy period to secure this contract.
