Leochip VLS
Leochip VLS is a cold-applied, thixotropic bitumen emulsion surface dressing binder. It is formulated for hand application and will not pond or spread on uneven surfaces. It is a frequent choice where attractive natural finishes are required in landscape design.
Ideal for surface dressing where conventional methods are impractical, Leochip VLS can be used on many types of surface in conjunction with a wide range of natural and coloured aggregates.
The method of application is to pour it from the can and spread it by hand using a notched squeegee (also available from Colas). The binder is then dressed with aggregate from a shovel and rolled. When the binder has "broken" the excess aggregate may be swept from the surface.
Leochip VLS is available in 25kg and 200kg drums (200kg drums require mechanical handling equipment). It should be applied at a spread rate of between 1.3 and 1.8kg per square metre, depending on the texture and porosity of the surface and choice of chipping size.
