Evidence that Colas Ltd is a market sector leader has just been demonstrated by the award of the Area 10 MAC contract to A-one+, the joint venture company comprising Colas, Halcrow and Costain. A full 3 year extension to the Area 14 MAC Contract was recently announced for A-one. Together with Halcrow, our strategic partner in A-one, we are consolidating our position as a leading provider of highway maintenance and management services and developing our reputation as a provider of innovative whole life solutions.
Working on the strategic road network across the country requires a specific skill set. Focussing on the safety of our workers and the road users, we are developing our staff to provide rapid and effective response for reducing congestion and improving journey time reliability. By placing the customer at the heart of everything we do we are delivering an increasingly high level of satisfaction.
Recognising the pressures on the public purse we are constantly searching for ways to improve our services whilst supporting our clients in delivering efficiencies. This is causing us to take a long look at how we do business both internally and externally and has provided the catalyst for extending the CAT process by introducing the EFQM model as a framework for continuous business improvement.
Our people are and will continue to be the key to our success. We place great emphasis on the development of our staff and partners through dynamic team working and we encourage all our employees to continually think of ways they can deliver services better today than they did yesterday.
